It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the CDP has a total region of 12.9 square miles (33 km2), of which 12.8 square miles (33 km2) is territory and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.54%) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 7,434 citizens , 2,364 homeholds, and 1,846 families residing in the CDP.

The populace density was 488.9 citizens per square mile (188.8/km ).
